The shop was relocated to the Piazza San Giovanni site in Florence at the turn of the century. At this time, they adopted the name "Orologeria Svizzera" for the store, which served to underline the relationship between Panerai's watches and its Swiss origins. The Panerai boutique, still bearing this name, stands proudly at this location even today where many luxury brand collectors and Panerai enthusiasts still gather around.

A pioneer of the past, the present, and the future. Panerai's involvement with the Italian Royal Navy led to the development of Radiomir, a self-luminescence used to make the dial and sight of their instruments brighter. This technology eventually led to the creation of a military watch, the Panerai Radiomir watches. Today's Panerai Radiomir still has many of its characteristics, such as the cushion-shaped stainless steel case, tanned, water-resistance leather strap, and 4 large Arabic numerals in the cardinal points. Their partnership with the Royal Italian Navy, alongside Rolex, led to the production of the diving watch, designed for water resistance, meant for extended use in underwater operations. They continued to improve their luminous technology leading to the creation of Luminor, resulting in a new line at Panerai: the Panerai Luminor watch.
