Panerai Luminor 1950 Historic 3 Day PAM00372
CJ Charles is proud to support PEERS with the donation of an estate Panerai PAM372 for their event. This is one of our most popular watches and we would love to answer any questions that you might have prior to the auction.
When Panerai introduced the special edition Luminor 1950 (fondly called the "Fiddy"), the watch became a wild success and since then, Paneristis have been calling for a non-limited "base" Fiddy. In Panerai lingo, a base model is one that has only hour and minute hands and nothing else on the dial.
The Panerai Luminor 1950 Historic 3 Days (model no. PAM00372) is Panerai's answer to these fervent pleas and is easily one of the most popular Panerai models. This watch, which has an extremely vintage feel, is fairly large at 47mm and comes in a 1950s style polished steel case with a sandwich matte black dial, which appears a deep brown in bright light, bearing Arabic numerals and hour markers coated in an elegant tan lume. An unusual feature of this watch is that, as opposed to the usual sapphire crystals, this model has a plexiglass crystal which gives the watch a certain warmth thanks to its domed shape and the way it refracts light.
Powered by manual winding (Calibre P.3000), the PAM372 is water resistant up to 100 meters and has a power reserve of 72 hours when fully wound. In keeping with its old world charm, this watch has a gorgeous tobacco brown leather strap and a tang buckle. As a secondary option, it also comes with a second honey-colored strap. This model has a transparent caseback that allows a glimpse into the delicate inner mechanism.
All watch aficionados will agree that the PAM372 is a model that is true to everything Panerai and a must have for all true watch lovers!
