Every year, the Miracle Babies foundation organizes a gala to raise awareness and funds for the support of families with critically ill newborns in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This year's edition of the Miracle Babies Gala, more formally known as Casino Royale, will be taking place as a masquerade ball on September 27, 2014 at the Grand Hyatt La Jolla.

CJ Charles Jewelers and the Miracle Babies Foundation

At the annual gala, the Miracle Babies foundation raises funds through sponsorship, donations, and a live and silent auction on the gala evening. As always, the annual fundraiser is seeing great support from all walks of the community, whether as sponsors or in-kind donors.

This year, CJ Charles Jewelers is proud to support the Miracle Babies foundation as an in-kind donor – we have donated a Panerai Luminor Marina 1950 watch (the PAM 312) for the auction, the proceeds of which will go to ease the financial burden of these families.

Getting to know the PAM 312

The Panerai Luminor Marina 1950 3 Day Automatic is a classic Panerai offering, with its smoothly flowing curves and lines. Coming in at a diameter of 44mm, the PAM 312 comes in a brushed steel case with a Panerai personalized alligator leather strap and a large brushed steel buckle. One of the reasons this watch is so eye-catching is its thickness...thanks to the rotor for the automatic movement, this watch is a pretty hefty 18mm thick.

The black sandwich dial has a simple, modern feel with its luminous Arabic numerals and hour markers, white gold hands to mark the hours, date aperture at 3 o'clock, and small seconds subdial at 9 o'clock. This dial is surrounded by a high polish bezel that contrasts beautifully with the brushed steel case

This model is powered by Panerai's inhouse automatic movement, calibre P.9000. This beautiful movement, which you will be able to appreciate thanks to the transparent sapphire case back, gives this watch a power reserve of 72 hours, making it perfect for those long weekend getaways. Since it is water resistant to 300 meters, those weekend getaways can even include a spot of diving.

All in all, this watch is one that you can proudly and comfortably wear on an everyday basis...a daily beater. And with its elegant dial and smooth finish, you will be able to transition it to nighttime engagements as well, with no trouble whatsoever. A Panerai to swear by!

Please contact us if you have any questions that you would like answered prior to the auction. If not, we hope to see you at the auction...it's for a great cause and you get to take home a PAM 312. Place your bid!
