Ladies and gentlemen, summer is here and it's time to make those colors pop! To help you on your vibrant way, we would like to introduce you to the new Officine Panerai watch straps – a cheerful collection, if you ever saw one!
This summer, Panerai is introducing 11 sophisticated variations of colored alligator straps – eight in semi-matte and three with a shiny finish, all of which are perfect for both men and women.
Introducing the new Panerai watch straps
For Panerai, the introduction of color is a development which harmonizes very successfully with the simplicity of the minimalist lines of its watches. The new accessories have a lively fresh and versatile character that maintains Panerai’s unique and recognizable style; they are a perfect synthesis of simplicity and high quality production.
The semi-matte range are available in red, green, blue, pink, Bordeaux, orange and yellow, with a brand new addition of an elegant white strap. Another first is the new colored straps with a polished finish, available in intense shades of red, dark pink and violet, displaying a captivating harmony of hues.
Guaranteeing exceptional quality
The various specialist operations employed in making the alligator straps and the excellent materials used mean they are unique and guarantee the highest standards of quality. The workmanship involved in the creation of straps with a polished finish especially, is very distinctive: the particularly brilliant effect of the surface is achieved by an elaborate process of hand polishing using special agate stones.
The exquisite leather used in Panerai straps is distinguished by large regular scales, according to the TEC standard (Toutes Écailles Carrées: rectangular scales only). The raw material comes from monitored farms in Louisiana in the United States, which operate in compliance with the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), agreed upon in Washington DC in the 1970s.
Another element characteristic of Panerai's high manufacturing standards for straps is a special technique known as rembordé, which is when the upper leather is accurately folded and sealed around the edges of the strap to provide greater resistance to creasing and wear. The internal lining of the straps, made of soft natural leather, can also breathe while being resistant to humidity and is therefore very comfortable. The sewing is also an extremely well-finished detail, using cotton thread of the same colour for the semi-matt straps and a contrasting, lighter shade for the polished straps.
